Month 3 – Part 2 | Oasis of Insight
“God blesses the humble. But He resists the proud.”That’s not just a warning—it’s a principle.
Let’s dive deep into why humility is the unshakable foundation for lasting success—and how keeping God at the center helps you grow without falling.
1. The Bubble of Blessings: Keep God at the Center
Imagine your life as a growing bubble. At the center is God. As you focus on Him—His presence, His Word, His purpose—your bubble expands. And guess what? Inside that ever-growing bubble come:
The house you desire
The job you prayed for
The spouse you’ve been hoping for
The favor, finances, and opportunities that elevate your life
But here’s the warning:If you ever remove God from the center and replace Him with the gifts, that bubble begins to shrink. The very things you once saw as blessings begin to weigh you down.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”— Matthew 6:33
2. Humility Protects You From Self-Destruction
Success can make people forget where they started. It can whisper lies:“You did this on your own.”“You deserve all the credit.”“You don’t need God anymore.”
But humility constantly reminds you:“Without God, I am nothing.”
Pride invites destruction.Humility invites elevation.
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.”— James 4:10
3. Humility Keeps You Soft Before God
King David—despite being a warrior, king, and man of great power—knew how to humble himself. He often cried out:
“When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”— Psalm 61:2
He understood that no matter how high he rose, he needed God even more. That kind of humility is what kept him aligned with divine success—not just earthly greatness.
4. The More You Rise, The More You Bow
Let this truth shape you: The higher you go, the lower your heart should bow. Not to people—but to God.
When God gives you more, your soul will naturally want to get comfortable and even proud. But if you constantly reposition your heart to bow before the Lord, He will entrust you with more.
“Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”— Matthew 23:12
Final Thoughts: Humility is Power in Disguise
Humility doesn’t make you weak. It’s the secret weapon of the wise.
The more you keep God at the center, the more you’re entrusted with. Keep thanking Him, keep seeking Him, and keep your eyes on the One who gave you everything.
Because when you stay small before God, He makes your impact large before people.
Prayer to Reflect: Lord, teach me to walk humbly with You. Keep my heart centered on You, not on the things You give. May I never replace the Giver with the gift. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
